A revolutionary automatic truck, thanks to the partnership between Carer and Frog
The Carer’s special machinery department is specifically structured to study forefront projects thanks to the synergy with customers who have very complex needs: this is the case of the new truck made for Frog, equipped with a revolutionary automatic driving system.
The Dutch company Frog is one of the most solid companies in the realization of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) systems and contacted the SPED department (special machines) of Carer for an important project financed by a large overseas industrial group that operates in the metal working.
The need that the technicians of Carer had to answer was to create a new truck with special features, able to operate in areas with difficult environmental conditions, which hard tested the resistance of operating machines. Constantly working closely with Frog's engineers, the SPED production team of Carer has created a forklift truck with a capacity of 4.5 t, suitable for the needs expressed by the customer. Later the Dutch company, by implementing an advanced software system, transformed it into an AGV cart, or an accurate tool equipped with an automatic system to work without an operator.
The accuracy and precision of Carer's technical department has substantially contributed to the success of the operation: thanks to this great result, 14 of these automatic forklifts are now used for handling aluminum blocks in Canada, at temperatures operating conditions very low (approximately -25°C) and in saline environments.
