Carer’s customisation capabilities chosen by Michelin for its Piedmont plant
Carer doesn’t only mean reduction of emissions and noise pollution: it also means complete customisation and the ability and expertise for fulfilling each request, in order to adapt our forklift trucks even to the narrowest stocking aisles.
This is why Michelin chose Carer for the rental of a forklift for the movement and loading of wire rods in the plant of Fossano, in Piedmont. We were chosen, although not a traditional Michelin supplier, because of the quality of our machine, its technical specifications and our ability to fulfil each request.
Michelin was supplied with a forklift developed from the base of the R60H model and modified in order to adapt to the specific security guidelines of the company (operator identification and automatic stop in case of collision) and the intra-logistic peculiarities of the Fossano plant. The machine has a compact frame, but can nonetheless lift up to 6 tons with a rather wide barycentre (1800 mm): this enables the truck to carry out loading operation on a narrow platform.
The maximum height of lifting is blocked at specific measures, in order to enable the forklift truck to operate in stocking aisles with a low 2.5 metre roof. The pole lifting the wire rods has a non-slip surface, in order to maximise security in each manoeuvre.
