Carer A80X: the strategic electric truck for paper handling

The choice of new electric trucks by a leading company in the paper industry testifies once again to the competitiveness and technological avant-garde achieved by Carer in the panorama of material handling even within paper mills.

Thanks to the versatility of its electric trucks, Carer has achieved a new great success in the market in the paper sector, confirming itself as a leader in the panorama of material handling for the storage and handling of paper: three new A80X electric trucks have recently been purchased by a large international company in Central Italy, one of the main producers of corrugated cardboard boxes, which has been operating for more than half a century in Italy and specializes in providing high quality packaging in a short time thanks to its highly efficient network of centers for packaging assembly .
After all, the A80X are the ideal trucks for handling in paper mills, with performance in all respects comparable to that of diesel machines, because they are very versatile and suitable for working outdoors and on uneven floors. Their strong point is extreme handling: the length of about half a meter shorter than the competitors and the possibility of operating with the single front wheel (instead of the twin, as for all the other trucks on the market) make them perfect for maneuvering in the holds and in all the tightest spaces. Added to this are their high autonomy of use, which ensures a significant reduction in operating costs, and the absence of harmful gas emissions, vibrations and noises, with significant benefits for the environment and the health of operators.
The three A80X electric trucks are already operational and are used in extreme mode, with battery change and coverage of a couple of shifts a day for the handling of very heavy rolls: they operate with the mast very high, at 6.5 meters, and they carry 4000 kg with center of gravity @750 up to maximum height. They are also able to transport the same reel, horizontally with a center of gravity @1300 up to 2.5 meters in height.
The decision to purchase the A80X electric trucks derives from the customer's need to have vehicles capable of handling such heavy reels without changing the warehouse layout: thanks to its compactness, in fact, the A80X guarantees extreme handling even when operating at high heights and with considerable loads. Performance guaranteed by the use of single super-elastic front tires, which allows for a machine that is only 1830 mm wide and ensures extreme maneuverability in confined spaces. All associated with very high safety in handling inside the sheds and warehouses.
The three A80X electric trucks, as well as inside the warehouses, also operate outside on the yard, to feed the corrugator, to handle the finished product and for the loading and unloading of trucks. These trucks have therefore proved to be a strategic choice for the customer's fleet, because they handle the largest reels, without which the corrugator would stop.

These are also trucks equipped with ultra-equipped and heated cabs for operator comfort: at the end of a series of tests, after verifying their performance and handling, the customer preferred them over all the other competing machines on the market, as proof of their efficiency and cost-effectiveness of use.

In fact, Carer electric trucks represent a great opportunity from an economic point of view for the paper mills and corrugators sector: with a constant use of 8 hours a day, which with large-capacity trucks usually extends up to at least two shifts of work, electric machines in fact guarantee  than internal combustion engines, with annual savings of around 45,000 euros for each machine for power supply alone. A benefit that is amplified by the "home" production of electricity, a characteristic of most paper mills. The decisive reduction in total management costs is then further integrated by the significant containment of maintenance costs (service).
